Scotland has made a commitment to ensure children and young people grow up loved, safe and respected, but Keeping The Promise depends on what happens in everyday practice. The Promise: Supporting Care-Experienced Children and Young People helps practitioners understand care experience, look beyond labels and assumptions, and consider how relationships, belonging, family connections, voice and everyday decisions can shape a child or young person’s experience.

– Reflect on language, dignity, privacy and information sharing when talking with and about care-experienced people.
– Identify practical changes within your own role or setting that can contribute to Keeping The Promise.
Interactive, Practical CPD
This CPD Group accredited 3-hour online course combines short videos, realistic case studies, practical scenarios, interactive activities and reflective tasks to help learners connect The Promise with everyday practice. Learners also receive downloadable resources including a Practice Reflection Tool, Language Matters: Talking About Care Experience guide and The Promise in Practice Quick Reference Guide. Complete the final 12-question assessment with an 80% pass mark to receive your certificate and 3 CPD points.
