Our FAIB Approved Basic Life Support (BLS) & AED Training course provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to recognise life-threatening emergencies, perform high-quality CPR, safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and manage choking incidents until the emergency services arrive.

This practical 3-hour course is suitable for workplaces, healthcare professionals, dental practices, GP surgeries, care homes, sports clubs, schools, and anyone who wants to develop lifesaving skills. Training is delivered by experienced instructors using realistic scenarios and hands-on practical exercises to build confidence in responding to emergencies.

What You’ll Learn

During the course you will learn how to:

• Assess an emergency scene safely.
• Carry out the Primary Survey (DR ABC).
• Assess a casualty’s level of responsiveness.
• Recognise cardiac arrest and identify when CPR is required.
• Perform effective adult CPR.
• Safely operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• Understand when to call 999 and when CPR should be continued or stopped.
• Carry out a Secondary Survey.
• Place an unconscious breathing casualty into the recovery position.
• Monitor a casualty’s breathing while awaiting emergency services.
• Recognise and treat choking in adults.

Optional modules are also available, including:

• Child and Infant Basic Life Support.
• Child and Infant AED.
• Child and Infant Choking.
• Anaphylaxis Awareness and Emergency Response.
